A group of cricket fans are planning to resume the fundraising efforts with a post COVID Charity Dinner.

The group normally organise a number of events every year that raise funds to support grass-roots cricket projects in some of the most deprived areas in South Africa including in Soweto, Boland, Port Elizabeth and at St. Augustine Cricket Club (the club where Basil D’Oliveira learned the game). However all of last year’s events were cancelled due to the pandemic completely decimating the amount that they were able to hand over to the projects.

They are now busy planning to get things back on track later this year with a Gala Dinner to be held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club on Friday 8th October.

The evening will be compered by BBC H&Ws Dave Bradley will feature two guest speakers - Phil Neale, Worcestershire legend and until recently a huge part of the England management team alongside former Warwickshire player Paul Smith who was the first overseas player to play for St. Augustine CC, a superb three course dinner, live music, an auction plus much more.

Tickets are now available at just £60 per person (all monies will be refunded if the event has to be cancelled again) and there will be a discount of £50 for a table of 10 booked by any member BDPCL club.

To book your tickets please do not hesitate to contact Mark at or on 07506 747619.
