Background 
Fordhouses Cricket Club was established in 1927, we pride ourselves on being a not-for-profit based community organisation. We offer multi sports and social opportunities on a non-discriminatory and fair basis. We play an important role in the local community. Fordhouses Cricket Club is a highly successful and varied sporting organisation that hosts varied levels of cricket games including – 44 adult league, 30 junior league, County and development, along with training sessions and corporate events. Our crown green bowling facility is home to over 130 bowls games per season. Indoors we host snooker and domino fixtures, social events.  

The Role - Principle Responsibilities and Tasks 
Fordhouses Cricket Club are looking to recruit an experienced grounds person in the role of Head Grounds Person. This is a new and exciting opportunity at the Club. The role will be managing the maintenance of all areas within the 9.9 acres of the Fordhouses Cricket Club site, along with the ground maintenance equipment. The role will also involve responsibility for advising an annual budget covering the ground maintenance requirement of materials and servicing of equipment for the Club. The successful applicant will ideally have a proven experience in the field of cricket squares and outfields, crown green bowling facilities and general grounds/gardens maintenance. Enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work as a team member are important in the demanding environment, where excellent results and pride of work are required. This is a busy and demanding role, so we are looking for someone who is hard working, organised, committed and reliable.The successful candidate needs to be not only a great team player but also a good team leader, who leads by example with enthusiasm, motivation and a good sense of humour! Ability to liaise with all team Captains/Managers is paramount. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a rare and exciting opportunity and crucial appointment for Fordhouses Cricket Club.
