Led by a fine all-round display from Sean Keeling-Wright, Old Hill marched into the quarter-finals of the Graham Williamson T20 Challenge Cup by claiming the scalp of Division One Himley.
Keeling-Wright smashed 42 from just 23 balls with three sixes to boost the visitors to 148 for six.
While stand-in skipper Ollie Walker was making an assured 74 during which he cleared the ropes six times Himley seemed likely winners.
But frugal spells from Keeling-Wright plus Sural Chauhan and Bilal Hassan (2-18) saw the hosts score only 14 runs from their closing three overs to finish ten short at 138 for six.
Keeling-Wright and Hassan had earlier proved equally effective in Old Hill's first-round win over WB Dartmouth by collectively claiming 3-20 from seven overs.
Although Bruce Thomason made a 39-ball 56 Dartmouth were unable to break the shackles they imposed and fell 17 runs short of their 143 target.
Old Hill's reward for this pair of opening day successes is a last-eight trip to Shrewsbury who completed a comfortable eight-wicket Second Round win over Wolverhampton.
All five Shrewsbury bowlers claimed a brace of wickets with Lewis Evans (whose 2-8 included the pictured wicket of Om Patel - credit: David Peters) and Sam Whitney (2-9) producing especially eye-catching four-over spells.
This left the newly-promoted Shrews chasing just 77 and they duly eased home with more than ten overs remaining thanks to Dan Humes' unbeaten 48.
Wolverhampton had earlier found life a little easier when claiming a 17-run local derby win over Division Two Worfield in Round One.
Despite Ravan Chahal's 3-19 Wolves set their hosts 137 before reducing the reply to 13 for three. Veteran Worfield skipper Greg Wright then made a good 52 but the home side closed on 119 for seven.
Knowle & Dorridge are many pundits' pre-season pick as title contenders and they eased into the last eight of the T20 Challenge Cup with wins over hosts Tamworth and Moseley.
Riley Ward made an unbeaten 46 as Tamworth posted 118 for seven against a K&D attack in which big winter signing Nick James (2-18) stood out.
Omaris Khan then stroked an unbeaten 77 as the visitors set up a Second Round clash with local rivals Moseley by completing a seven-wicket win.
In a rain-reduced 15-over contest Yadvinder Singh and Usman Awan both grabbed two-wickets for Moseley but Omaris continued his good form with 34 while Neil Pinner hit an unbeaten 33-ball 60 as K&D reached 134 for six.
And this proved more than adequate as Moseley folded to 64 for nine in reply against new K&D skipper Ollie Currill who finished with 3-5.
League champions Smethwick make a quarter-final trip to Station Road after they claimed an impressive 60-run Second Round win at Dorridge.
Isaac Mohammed pointed the visitors towards their sizeable 248 for four with a thrilling 23-ball 61 which Raj Beniwal almost matched while making a 32-ball unbeaten 60.
Adnaan Riaz top-scored for Dorridge with 42 while Smethwick's winter signing Umar Shaikh restored some order for the bowlers by claiming 2-21 as the home side closed on 188 for five.
Dorridge had earlier edged past Warwickshire League champions Handsworth by seven runs under Duckworth Lewis after rain curtailed their First Round meeting.
Ex-Blossomfield all-rounder Ed Thompson was the star of the show with an unbeaten 50-ball 80 as Dorridge reached 149 for six.
Krish Chauhan took 3-24 for Handsworth who then reached 64 for one from eight overs chasing an adjusted target of 71.
The individual display of the day came in the Round One game between Leamington and Kenilworth Wardens where Spa's newly-returned left-handed powerhouse Chris Calcott thrashed an unbeaten 55-ball 124 and still finished on the losing side.
Calcott added 125 with opening partner Harrison Smith (44) but useful efforts from Wardens' spinners Jack Pidgeon and Ali Zaryab kept their hosts just below the 200 mark.
Out-of-retirement Keith Bell (45) and opening partner Oli Dandy (44) set the visitors on their way and Harry Johnson then provided some good acceleration with an unbeaten 19-ball 45.
Nonetheless Spa looked favourites when Wardens needed 13 from four balls only for Alex Wilkinson to walk to the wicket and hit his first three deliveries over the ropes to complete a five-wicket win.
However, Wardens quickly came to earth when Division One Barnt Green inflicted a six-wicket defeat on them in the Second Round.
Robbie Shurmer and Adam Hines shared six wickets and despite a fluent half-century from Pakistan A star Zaryab, recently-relegated Wardens closed on 143 for nine.
Jacques Banton's rapid 50 and a more measured 63 from Ben Chapman-Lilley then saw Barnt Green home in the last over.
Halesowen joined their Worcestershire rivals in the last eight after completing a pair of well-paced chases against Stourbridge and Ombersley.
Worcestershire League champions Stourbridge made little headway with the bat against a six-man home attack and as a result Halesowen only needed 84 to complete a six-wicket win in the 16th over.
Charlie Egerton then removed three of Ombersley's top five before the Second Round meeting took on a different hue thanks to a superb unbroken 125-run fourth-wicket partnership between Sinel Gunarathne (95no) and skipper Nick Hammond (56no).
Chasing 188 Halesowen's winter signing from Attock Hasan Mahmood made a 30-ball 61. However, it was Alexei Kervezee's entertaining 38-ball 72 that finally swung the contest in the direction of Wes Griffiths' team who duly completed a five-wicket win with five balls remaining.
