Division 1

Knowle & Dorridge and Smethwick reprise their recent National Club Championship clash at Station Road next Saturday in what is increasingly looking like a Birmingham & District Premier League title shoot-out.

Smethwick took the spoils on that occasion, but the two-time BDPCL champions go into next Saturday's round 19 encounter with a 14-point deficit to make up on K&D.

While defeat will effectively therefore end Smethwick's treble hopes, their hosts' title aspirations can withstand a defeat providing they garner a good hand of bonus points.

Four wickets from young paceman Freddie Fowler set K&D on their way to a comfortable six-wicket win at Harborne. The prolific Alexei Kervezee held the visitors at bay with a flamboyant 60-ball 87 containing five sixes but despite his efforts K&D only required 171 to maintain their position at the top of the table.

And with George Maddy making 57, Ollie Currill's team duly eased to the finish line in the 26th over.

Smethwick's tenth win of the campaign was secured at the expense of Moseley whose position at the foot of the table is looking increasingly hapless.

The prolific Viken Kedariya became the first Division One batter to 1000 league runs on his way to making 77 and with Raj Beniwal and Deepak Khatri offering good support Moseley were left to chase 274.

Left-arm paceman Salmaan Ajam claimed 3-23 and skipper Usman Awan 3-60 for the visitors but their batting then never got to grips with Warwickshire's Taz Ali (4-31) and as a result Moseley folded to 124 all out and a 150-run reverse.

Halesowen finished closest to Smethwick in 2024 and 2025 and having climbed above Barnt Green into third Wes Griffiths' team retain title hopes this term.

Their three-wicket win at Kenilworth Wardens - who now seem very likely to join Moseley in Division Two in 2027 - was built around a half-century from Glamorgan's Zain Ul-Hassan. A good all-round effort from their bowling attack earlier restricted the hosts to 169/7 of which Oliver Dandy made 64 and Alex Wilkinson 54no.

Barnt Green's title challenge is under serious pressure after last week's reverse to Smethwick was followed by a 96-run home defeat at the hands of Ombersley.

Charles Jackson, Tom Hinley and Seth Essenhigh all passed 40 for the visitors who were bowled out for 236. Roshan Venkataraman and Jack Warner shared six wickets for Barnt Green and former Smethwick all-rounder Venkataraman also went on to top-score for the hosts with 36.

However, the home batting line-up came up with few answers to the questions posed by Joel Cox (4-27) and Ishaan Arora (3-25) and Barnt Green duly slipped to 140 all out in the 38th over.

Dorridge are 49 points above Wardens and the drop zone after Nivethan Radhakrishnan thrashed a brilliant 85-ball 131 in their mountainous 226-run win at Barnards Green

Acting captain Dani Khan added a 62-ball 80 and with Nabeel Mahmood also logging a half-century Barnards were left to chase the small matter of 397/5.

Unsurprisingly the shell-shocked home side found this way beyond their capabilities. Skipper Ryan Tongue made 54 but with Adnaan Riaz claiming 4-38 Barnards were bowled out for 171 in the 34th over.

Shrewsbury claimed a comfortable six-wicket home win over Himley on the back of a fine spell from Zimbabwean quick Dustin Melton who claimed 4-17.

Although skipper Oliver Westbury and Mitesh Patel both made fifties this left the hosts to chase 162, a target they passed in the 29th over.

Division Two

Attock clinched promotion to the top flight for the first time in their history with a comprehensive seven-wicket win at basement club Worfield.

Having rejoined the BDPCL as Warwickshire League champions twelve months ago the Moseley-based club have quickly adapted to the thinner air experienced in an ECB Premier League.

To date they have lost only twice, and once again it was their prolific batting line-up led by the league's leading run-scorer Rizwan Hussain, Omar Ali and Ismail Mohammed who stole the headlines.

All three made half-centuries to take Qasim Tanvir's team to their 222-run target in just 34 overs. The experienced Basit Zaman earlier top-scored for Worfield with 51 against a spin-heavy Attock attack in which former Wardens' off-spinner Gursimrat Singh shared five economical scalps with ex-Dartmouth all-rounder Ismail.

Attock need 35 more points to be certain of clinching the Division Two title whereas Worfield are now 54 points adrift of safety and could therefore be relegated back to the Shropshire County League next week.

And Kidderminster are now at serious risk of joining them in the departure lounge after losing a high-scoring game at Milford Hall by 28 runs.

Blake Haddrell made an excellent even-time 143 for the reigning South Staffordshire league champions and despite the league's leading wicket-taker Liam Weston taking his seasonal tally to 47 by claiming 4-43 Kiddy were left to chase 288/8.

Mateen Khan made 73 from the top of the visitors' order to which Ben Jones added 64 but three wickets apiece for Warwickshire slow left-armer Theo Wylie and Clark Haddrell ended the visitors' hopes at 260 all out.

WB Dartmouth are now 23 points above the relegation cut-off after upsetting the form book with a five-wicket home win over promotion-chasing Berkswell.

Needing nine from Vansh Jani's last over the hosts kept their nerve and edged to their 286-run target with two balls remaining. Ateeq Javid was 52 not out at that point after openers Bruce Thomason (55) and Danny Cox (73) had earlier added 102.

Will Tarrant's third hundred of a prolific first BDPCL season plus 85 from captain Chris Whittock had previously led the way for Berkswell while Javid bowled a tidy spell for the hosts.

Berkswell still seem the likeliest contenders to join Attock in Division One next year since none of the clubs immediately behind them have shown the consistency required to puncture what is currently a 37-point cushion.

Milford Hall now lie third after Wolverhampton became the latest victims of Old Hill's late-season five-match winning charge. 

Pakistani pro Saad Naseem has built a strong reputation during his time at Haden Hill and this was further enhanced by the match-clinching unbeaten 102 with which he steered his side to a seven-wicket Black Country derby win with 15 overs in hand.

Chasing Wolverhampton's seemingly competitive 281/8, opener Hamza Khan made 50 before skipper Bilal Hassan (64no) joined Naseem - whose runs came from just 63 balls with seven fours and eight sixes - in a thrilling unbroken 173-run fourth-wicket stand compiled in just 19.3 overs.

Staffordshire's Reeve Evitts (50) earlier joined forces with Sri Lankan pro Rishin Upamal (pictured) who made an unbeaten 117 from 99 balls in taking fourth-placed Wolves to a full set of batting bonus points.

Half-centuries from Riley Ward (79) and James Rudge took Tamworth to a five-wicket win at Leamington. Chasing Spa's 246/8 the visitors eased to the finishing tape in the 47th over with former Halesowen all-rounder Rudge unbeaten on 54.

Leamington earlier recovered from 47/5 through a seventh-wicket partnership of 120 between James Hawkins (79no) and Kalan Niyarepola (68). Seamer Ed and off-spinner Tom Smith each claimed three wickets for Tamworth.

A consistent batting display in which Bilal Hussain, Vriitya Aravind, Mavarick Perry and Syed Bukhari all passed 50 set Stourbridge on their way to a comfortable 62-run home win over Shifnal. The hosts posted a useful 298/8 before Shifnal were bowled out for 236.
