Warwickshire Cricket Foundation has arranged its first event of the new season on Tuesday 18th March at 10.30am at the Edgbaston Community Ground, Portland Road, Edgbaston B17 8LS.

The event, which will run from 10.30am until around 1pm, will see County Pitch Advisors Jonathan Blakeman and Ashley Hill talk about pre-season preparations and the challenges that grounds teams face in spring.

There will also be input from local umpires regarding pitch marks and what they are looking for when grading pitches.

Finally, Andy Welsby from the Grounds Management Association will talk about the Pitch Power app which has recently been implemented in cricket and is fundamental to any applications to the Grass Pitch Improvement Fund.

Hopefully, the morning will be a great opportunity for clubs to tap into the vast knowledge of Jonathan, Ashley and Andy.

We will look to provide some breakfast rolls for anyone attending so an indication of numbers attending would be ideal.

Please contact richardevans@edgbaston.com for more information or to reserve places.
