Division One
Having lost to local rivals Knowle & Dorridge from the final ball seven days earlier, Moseley finished on the right side of another heart-stopping finale when their last pair edged them to a one-wicket win at Ombersley.
Chasing 237/9, Shayaan Abid rattled off 115 from 123 balls, finding the boundary no fewer than 21 times. Salmaan Ajam then joined him before seizing the initiative after his dismissal with an unbeaten 40 that boosted his side's survival hopes.
Joel Cox (85) had earlier been the driving force behind Ombersley's recovery from 87/5 while Eesa Nadeem (3-65) and Ajam (2-17) starred with the ball for Moseley.
Knowle & Dorridge stay top after recording a comfortable seven-wicket local derby win at Dorridge. Tom Davis (3-32) took out the home side's top scorer Imaad Mahmood (58) while Freddie Fowler claimed 2-19 as the hosts were kept to 182. Neil Pinner (73 no) and Callum Bennett (37 no) then got the job done with the minimum of fuss.
Second-placed Smethwick recovered from a poor start to beat hosts Barnards Green by five wickets with four overs to spare. Led by Oliver Halion's excellent unbeaten 84 the home side posted 242/5 and when Jeet Varaich (2-41) and Chris Steele (2-60) then reduced the defending champions to 41/4 Barnards looked likely winners.
But Smethwick's batting depth came to the rescue as the in-form Viken Kedariya's unbeaten 90 provided a base from which Deepak Khatri added 60 from 50 deliveries before the experienced Bilal Shafayat (54 no) got them over the line.
Barnt Green lost ground on the top two after being forced to settle for a winning draw at Himley despite Jacques Banton (120) (pictured) making another century. The visitors racked up 343/8 with opener Ben Chapman-Lilley (94) and Daniel Meredith (51) providing good support. Acting Himley captain Ben Robinson (4-92) did some damage lower down the order before Spencer Grove (78), Joe Wright (44), James Clark (42) and Cameron Jones (50 no) did enough to claim a full hand of batting points and avoid defeat.
Shrewsbury pulled away from the relegation zone with an eight-wicket win at struggling Kenilworth Wardens. The South Warwickshire side started well through an 85-run opening partnership between Alex Wilkinson (44) and Oliver Dandy (65) before Peter Clark (3-59) got rid of both. As a result Wardens' middle-order failed to build on this good start and with Gabe Downes claiming 3-31 Shrewsbury’s target was limited to 206. It looked like openers Peter Clark (106 no) and George Hargrave (90) might get the job done off their own bats before Shrewsbury completed a comfortable win in the 32nd over.
Ed Bragg (4-21) and Ciaran Baker-Smith (3-34) starred with the ball as Halesowen recorded a 31-run home win over Harborne. The hosts were bowled out for 158 in the 44th over with Simon Gregory (74) leading the way after Rayyen Khan (3-39) had worked his way through the top of the card. Although Harborne's Hasan Mahmood (29), Tejas Wagle (35) and Alexei Kervezee (25) then all got starts the visitors' chase folded to 127 all out.
Division Two
Tamworth’s promotion bid was knocked off course by a six-wicket home defeat to relegation-fighting Kidderminster who as a result edge clear of the drop zone. Having opted to bat, the hosts never got to grips with Kiddy skipper Liam Weston (4-49) and Ben Jones (4-15) as they slumped to 45/9.
Although tailenders Tom Smith (30) and Liam Brazier (22) put up a fight, Tamworth were seen off for 102 which proved well within the compass of the visitors thanks to an unbeaten 50 from Nathan Jukes.
Pakistani pro Ahmed Bashir grabbed 5-49 to take Attock to the top of the table through an emphatic nine-wicket home win over relegation-threatened West Bromwich Dartmouth. Opener Kobe Herft battled to 53 but his only support came from Brinder Phagura (21) as the visitors were bowled out for 115.
Attock's opening pair Aarib Khan (50) and Omar Ali (58 no) then found the boundary regularly as the hosts raced to the finishing line.
This means Berkswell slip to second spot despite leaving Shifnal with a six-wicket success. A second-wicket stand of 135 between Chad Brandwick (83) and Tom Fell (65) boosted the Shropshire side to 249, a total that might have been bigger but for leg-spinner Will Tarrant (3-15) mopping up the tail.
This left the title chasers with work to do, but captain Chris Whittock stepped up with an unbeaten 100 and with Will Iles making 55 Berkswell stayed on track for an immediate return to Division One.
Off-spinner Kalan Niyarepola (4-54) played a key role as Leamington secured a four-wicket win over Stourbridge that keeps them interested in the promotion chase.
After a slow start, Bilal Hussain (34) and Syed Bukhari (73) brought Stourbridge back into contention with a fourth-wicket partnership of 76 only for leg-spinner Jason Jakeman's 3-31 to prove too much for the visitors' lower order. Leamington then eased to their 157-run target through Will Richardson (29 no), Chris Calcott (33) and Niyarepola (22 no).
Milford Hall leapfrogged Wolverhampton with a two-wicket victory at Danescourt Road. Theo Wylie (6-37) and Yohan Liyange (3-57) did the bulk of the damage as skipper Joe Stanley (30) and Will Nield (39) were the main contributors to the home.side's 159. Warwickshire all-rounder Wylie (41) then joined forces with Dominic Afford (46) and Will Davis (24 no) to ensure Milford Hall got the job done. Stanley finished with 3-70 for Wolverhampton.
Worfield climbed out of the drop zone with a winning draw at home to Old Hill. The battle of the morning’s bottom two went the distance with 98 from Ross Aucott, Basit Zaman’s 40 from 30 balls and 41 from Rohel JP Peters helping Worfield to an impressive 277/8.
Shahrukh Khan (2-56) and Ravan Chahal (3-59) then had the visitors in trouble at 10/2 only for Hamza Khan (39), Saad Naseem (57) and Sayf Hosein (50) to ensure Worfield were unable to bank a 24-point return.
