Division One

Barnt Green top the table for the first time this season following a Jacques Banton inspired seven-wicket win over previous leaders Knowle & Dorridge.

After K&D skipper Ollie Currill opted to bat first, openers George Maddy (37) and Alex Phillips (25) put on 52 before Ethan Berlusconi (76) and Neil Pinner (43) forged a 109-run third-wicket alliance.

But Banton checked their progress by grabbing 5-50 off eight overs which left the Worcestershire outfit chasing 260/9 - a target their second-wicket pair Ben Chapman-Lilley and Dan Meredith (63) reduced by 108 runs.

With opener Chapman-Lilley playing his usual anchor role to finish with an unbeaten 85, Banton turned destroyer hitting 77 off just 58 balls as Barnt Green cruised to victory with almost five overs in hand. 

This result leaves K&D a point behind the new leaders while Smethwick are now nine points further back after a battling effort from Himley's last pair Dinuk de Silva and Ben Hopkins denied them a maximum-point return.

The reigning champions amassed 317/5 before once again opting to declare after 54 overs. Worcestershire opener Isaac Mohammed led the way with 101 and there were useful contributions from Amir Khan (62) and Division One's leading run-scorer Viken Kedariya (51) while all five wickets fell to de Silva.

In reply, Himley dug in to reach 200/9 at the end of their innings, Ollie Walker (33) top-scored while Manraj Johal and Sagar Udeshi shared six wickets for Smethwick - but neither were able to shift the home side's final pair who grafted their way through 12.4 overs to avoid defeat.

Moseley’s losing draw at home to mid-table Harborne was enough to lift them off the foot of the table. Batting first, their 295 featured half-centuries from Aum Raykar (80) and Andrew Umeed (63).

A brief rain break removed four overs from the contest - and this proved crucial in a thrilling finale which saw Harborne close eight runs short while their hosts required two wickets to clinch the spoils. Former Halesowen and Attock opener Hasan Mahmood (59) and ex-Pear Alexei Kervezee (59) led the way for Harborne and Ben Shepperson hit a rapid 70 off 49 balls before falling in the final over.

Moseley earned nine points for their efforts and realistically with seven rounds of action remaining - five of which are played in the white-ball format - it seems the 2023 champions are in a three-way battle with promoted Dorridge and Kenilworth Wardens to determine who stays in the top flight.

Wardens' winless run now extends to ten games after they fell to a convincing eight-wicket defeat at Barnards Green for whom Chris Steele grabbed the headlines.

The experienced seamer claimed 7-46 as the visitors slumped from a promising 98/2 to 195 all out. The ever-consistent Harry Johnson ran out of partners with an unbeaten 78 while Oli Dandy made 54 as wickets fell around them.

Worcestershire's Rehaan Edavalath (101no) and acting skipper Oliver Halion (40) then took Barnards Green most of the way to the finishing line by adding 115 for the second wicket before Jevan Kher's unbeaten 30-ball 40 finished the job in the 45th over.

Wardens are four points adrift of Moseley at the foot of the table while Dorridge hold a 32-point cushion from the bottom pair despite suffering a hefty 161-run home defeat at the hands of Ombersley.

The visitors posted 327/8 on their way to a 161-run victory at the John Woolman Ground. Tom Hinley (79) and Joel Cox (69) led the way against a seven-strong home attack in which Perry Derrick claimed three wickets.  Former Wolverhampton seamer Charles Jackson then tore through the home side's top order on his way to a match-clinching 6-47 as Dorridge were bowled out in the 47th over for 166.

Seamers Eddie Rhodes and Ed Bragg bowled fourth-placed Halesowen to an exciting nine-run win over mid-table visitors Shrewsbury.

Chasing 234, Shropshire prospect Seb Scott (89) took Salop to a promising 204/5 after Rhodes (5-60) had claimed four top-order scalps including George Hargrave. But it was the return of his new-ball partner Bragg (4-64) to the attack that swung the contest irrevocably towards the hosts as Shrewsbury were seen off in the 51st over for 225.

Rhodri Evans had earlier taken five wickets for the visitors as a series of home batters failed to convert useful starts beyond Raynard van Tonder's 48.

Division Two

Table-topping Attock enhanced their title chances through an eight-wicket home win over mid-table Stourbridge who were bowled out for 142 in the 43rd over.

Spinner Hassan Farooq claimed 4-52 for the Warwickshire Premier League Champions before former Aston Manor batter Usama Khan made an unbeaten 53 to finish the job in the company of Rizwan Hussain (24no).

Qasim Tanvir's team are seven points clear of long-time leaders Berkswell who were forced to settle for a winning draw at Tamworth. Ethan Wragg (67) and Chris Whittock (64) led the way for the visitors who reached 290/8 before the hosts responded with 187/5.

Veteran Stuart Burrows (41) followed his half-century against Barnt Green in the Graham Williamson T20 Challenge Cup final by top-scoring for Tamworth while Berkswell off-spinner Umar Shaikh's 14 overs went for just 26 runs.

Third-placed Wolverhampton retain hopes of bouncing back to Division One at the first attempt after skipper Joe Stanley dominated their 115-run home win over local rivals Worfield.

The hosts posted 266/7 thanks to a fine 115 from the Shropshire all-rounder while Sri Lankan pro Rishin Upamal made 50 against his 2025 employers.

Although Harris Ajaz finished with 5-76, Worfield's response was soon under pressure against the home spinners and they were eventually dismissed in the 43rd over for 151. Worcestershire prospect Asad Ullah's leg-spin claimed 5-48 while Stanley wrapped up an outstanding individual performance with 4-27.

This result leaves Worfield 13 points from safety at the foot of the table where Old Hill have made big strides to escape what increasingly was looking like a two-from-four relegation battle.

Led by a fine 88 from skipper Bilal Hassan the Haden Hill outfit recorded a second consecutive 24-point return in convincing style when they left Arlington Avenue with an 84-run verdict over Leamington.

Hassan, who batted three hours, was joined by Harry Davenport (42no) in a breezy 82-run sixth-wicket stand which saw the visitors to 236/6.

Former Stratford seamer Archie Walker was Spa's standout performer with 3/45 but after the break their batters found life difficult. Aamir Manzoor took 4-48 while Pakistani pro Saad Naseem and Staffordshire seamer Sam Keeling-Wright each claimed three wickets as Leamington were bowled out in just 28 overs for 152.

The day's big relegation battle took place at Chester Road where West Bromwich Dartmouth and Kidderminster produced a thrilling drawn match in which every outcome was possible as the contest entered its closing stages.

Leading Division Two wicket-taker Liam Weston claimed 4-46 for the hosts but Dartmouth's Ateeq Javid scored 95 and there was also a half-century from Shayaan Tahir (57) as Kiddy were left to chase 256/8 in 53 overs following a brief break for rain.

Nathan Jukes (82) and Ben Jones (50) led the charge but former Bear Recordo Gordon's two late wickets plus Brinder Phagura's 4-83 left the hosts eight short of victory and four shy of their winning draw target at 249/9.

Despite claiming 17 points Dartmouth therefore remain in the drop zone, now only six points below Kidderminster while Old Hill now hold a 23-point buffer from the bottom two.

Milford Hall’s Chris Dean (pictured) took 5-40 but it was not enough to stop their mid-table rivals and hosts Shifnal from securing a four-wicket win. Both Dominic Afford (58) and Blake Haddrell (52) impressed for the visitors who left their Telford-based hosts to chase 190. Shifnal paceman Ben Roberts captured 5-45 before an impressive 73 from opener Oliver Parton saw the hosts to 191/6 with 12 overs in hand.
